The Council
The Council that manages the DTA is made up of dental technicians only - some are elected and the others are appointed by the specialist dental technology groups. The Chief Executive runs the DTA office and supports the activities of the association. The structure is:
- 8 elected dental technicians
- 5 representatives from the specialist dental technology groups
Sub-committees of the Council
Executive Committee
The Executive committee maintains the development of the Council's proposals while the Chief Ececutive oversees the administration of the DTA on a day to day basis. The Executive committee formally report to Council at its twice yearly meetings.
Public Relations
The Public Relations committee is responsible for raising awareness about the DTA in particular and dental technology generally. The current Chairman of this committee is Stephen Wears.
Membership Services
The Membership Services committee is responsible for the development of services for members, such as a legal helpline. The current Chairman of this committee is Stephen Wears.
Health and Safety
The Health and Safety committee aim to provide current information to members on important health and safety issues.
Education and Training
The Education and Training committee are responsible for driving up standards within education to ensure that the current baseline qualification meets the needs of the industry. The current Chairman of this committee is John Stacey.
DTA Office
The Chief Executive is Sue Adams. She is responsible for the office, administration and support to the various sub-committies. She provides the first point of contact point for the members.
