The Institute relocated to state-of-the-art facilities in 2020 and are seeking to recruit a dental Technical Instructor who will be required to work as part of a wider team of dental technical instructors and clinical academics to deliver teaching, research and the production of patient prosthodontic devices in a dental laboratory. The post holder is expected to support and develop the postgraduate trainees' understanding of the technical aspects of their clinical procedures and assist and guide in dental material technology.

Within this exciting role, the post holder will play an important part in providing high-quality technical support to our student and academic cohort. This includes maintaining a safe working environment for students and staff in our laboratories by following our Health & Safety policies and working procedures and ensuring general tidiness and cleanliness of all lab areas. The post holder should be GDC registered and have relevant specialist Prosthodontic dental technology experience with good theoretical knowledge of dental materials and techniques in both analogue and digital workflows. This is position will be based at the Bloomsbury Campus.

To support the Senior Chief Instructor Technician and the wider team in development of formal and informal teaching of all aspects of the technical procedures required for laboratory construction of fixed and removable restorations, prostheses or other appliances used in Prosthodontics. This will involve both analogue and digital workflows. Supervision of the laboratory procedures undertaken by postgraduate trainees (both EDI and Hospital-based) as part of their training programme. This includes both analogue and digital workflows. Control and issue of laboratory consumables, including precious metals, as determined by the Senior Chief Instructor Technician. Qualified to at least BTEC National Diploma (Dental Technology) and/or BSc Dental Technology/or equivalent or Foundation Degree in Dental Technology, plus work experience, preferably in a relevant technical/scientific role or the equivalent work experience in a relevant technical or scientific role.

Applicants must also have knowledge in the area of Prosthodontics dental technology, experience working using analogue workflows and be computer literate with digital workflows and digital dental technology software.
