Anthony Reynolds

R. Anthony Reynolds BA MSc PhD has specialized in computerized medical image processing since 1973. He was a co-founder of Image Diagnostic Technology Ltd and IDT Dental Products Ltd where he now serves as Managing Director. Dr Reynolds is a Registered Clinical Scientist (number CS03469) and has lectured extensively on medical imaging, radiation safety and computerized surgical planning for dental implantology.

“The demand for digital dental technology is swiftly gaining momentum and CAD/CAM (computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing) techniques are being adopted in every area by dental health professionals. In the world of implant dentistry, digital technologies speed up the treatment process and provide greater accuracy and precision in planning, placing and restoring dental implants. Recent advances in stereo photography incorporate aesthetic information into the implant planning process by providing lifelike 3D representations of the patient’s skin surface. This workshop will provide an overview of the emerging digital technologies that are likely to be found in dental laboratories of the future”.

Earn CPD hours at Showcase 2010

BDTA Dental Showcase provides the perfect opportunity to learn about the latest materials, equipment, products, services and technologies in one location, enabling all members of the dental team to improve their knowledge and understanding of new techniques.

You receive the time spent walking around the exhibition, viewing demonstrations and interacting with trade professionals as general CPD hours and will be able to download your certificate online shortly after the event.

Tony Reed, Executive Director at the BDTA comments, “There is a great deal of information to absorb at Showcase and lots to analyse, especially when comparing products and services.  We recognise this valuable hands-on approach to learning by providing CPD hours for time spent at the exhibition.”

The GDC has recommended that dental technicians carry out CPD in materials and equipment as one of the three core subjects during each five year CPD cycle instead of radiography and radiation.  A trip to Showcase addresses this requirement.
