Challenging the government to support dental technologists and dental laboratories
By DTA | 18th August 2020 | News
The Health APPG (cross party group of MPs) are reviewing information put forward to them as a request to challenge the government for support for dental technologists and dental laboratories as part of a wider request to also support dental practices, including:
- Grants for all dental laboratories that have been excluded from support schemes.
- Business rates relief across the board.
- Key worker status for all dental professionals
- Self-employed income support for those excluded from support packages.
- VAT cuts.
The above points align with the DTA's campaign to support our membership, including those individuals who have not been eligible to receive any support via the government schemes. We have submitted a request for support and included the recently distributed press release, to the Coronavirus All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) and the ExcludedUK All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) to support this campaign.
The ExcludedUK APPG is a group of over 200 MP's headed up by Jamie Stone. They are fighting for individuals who haven't qualified for furlough or SEISS - some of our members fall into this group.
