Covid Vaccine Priority

By DTA | 8th January 2021 | News

The Chief Dental Officer England has confirmed that:

dental professionals and their teams are being prioritised for a COVID-19 vaccine

This means that dental teams supporting the NHS and those working in private or mixed practices will all be entitled to a vaccine. This includes specialist practices and clinical dental technicians (CDTs) registered with the CQC.

The DTA have contacted the Chief Dental Officer England pushing for dental technicians and CDTs to also be prioritised for the COVID-19 vaccine. CDTs and many dental technicians have direct contact with patients. Many CDTs are not in a position to register with the CQC, in fact are prevented from doing so by the CQC screening.

Clinical dental technicians who are registered with the CQC will be included as a priority, but you must ensure your CQC accounts are up to date. As with all primary care providers, the message is do not contact your GP. You will be on the list and will be contacted to receive your priority access to the vaccine.
