The British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show, alongside the Dental Technology Showcase, hit new heights on the 16th and 17th May at Birmingham's NEC Hall 5, as the team from the Dental Technologists Association found out.
The DTA stand was kept busy meeting members old and new, while the DTA's ex-president and newly appointed Liaison Delegate, Delroy Reeves, explored the latest technology on display in the exhibition floor. DTA members had made specific requests for more information about digital workflows and this was his chance to uncover the freshest out of the box developments.
He was interested to discover more about 3D printing and spent time talking with Business Development Manager Zoe Burgoyne on the Eurodontic Stand, where he was introduced to the latest SprintRay systems and materials.
Zoe explained: "To fabricate long-lasting final restorations the SprintRay OnX Tough 2 is designed with NanoFusion technology to deliver the high strength, structural integrity and stability required for a range of restorations. It is especially suited for the fabrication of hybrid denture prosthetics, implant-supported denture prosthetics, monolithic full and partial removable dentures, and preformed denture teeth to be used in a denture.
"The SprintRay ecosystem facilitates a complete digital workflow. As part of this comprehensive network, the OnX Tough 2 makes it possible to 3D print, wash and cure 10 fixed dentures in just 30 minutes."

Zoe continued: "The latest addition to the SprintRay portfolio is the Midas 3D printer. This is unique for a number of reasons." Zoe listed the Midas benefits:
• It's the first digital restoration press available around the world.
• It offers the smartest yet simplest method of 3D printing for dental restorations.
• The multitalented solution can produce several restorations at once for unparalleled workflow efficiency - and absolutely no compromise in accuracy and quality.
• By using Digital Press Stereolithography technology and hydrodynamic principles, Midas makes it possible to use lower viscosity resins, substantially increasing material options.
• The 45 µm projector maximises precision by minimising light distortion to the print glass.
She asked: "Want to know more? The Midas Restoration Tour is coming to Europe, landing in London on 5th June 2025. This will be the ideal opportunity to see Midas in action; to appreciate the sophistication of the technology and better understand the simplicity it affords to 3D printing workflows in labs of all sizes.
"You'll hear directly from Dr Robbie Hughes, who will be sharing his extensive experience in digital dentistry and 3D printing, as well as showcasing how Midas elevates patient care.
"In addition, SprintRay will be presenting the day in conjunction with exclusive event partners, iTero and Ivoclar, exploring the entire restorative workflow from start to finish. The opportunity to try the iTero intraoral scanner provides accurate digital data capture for predictable restorations.
"Attendees will then see how to implement Ivoclar placement protocols for the best clinical outcomes, using advanced bonding protocols for exceptional 3D printed restorations featuring Ivoclar's Adhese Universal Vivapen and Variolink Esthetic.
"By employing the combination of powerful AI-driven solutions, dentists and dental technicians everywhere can now enjoy the benefits of optimised integration, efficiency and accuracy in all their restorative workflows."
