DTA Council Elections

By DTA | 1st March 2023 | News

DTA Council members are a group of fully qualified and highly experienced dental technologists who volunteer their time to the association purely for their love of their profession.

Our team is committed to advancing standards within the field of dental technology while working hard to ensure that the importance of British dental technology is recognised throughout the  governments of the four countries of the UK. This year (2023) our work will be supported by a number of video meetings.

Aiming for the views of the nation's dental technicians to be heard where it matters, we consistently strove to raise the many issues of the plight of dental laboratories and dental technicians during the strictures of the pandemic by lobbying Ministers, MPs, and regulators. This was an aim in which we are proud to say we have succeeded, but we are still working for the technologists' cause in the face of the cost-of-living crisis and so much more.

DTA Council members contribute to the Association's membership in many different ways, whether through writing technical CPD articles for DTA publications The Technologist and Articulate (with the  support of our editorial team when required) or peer reviewing articles written by others to ensure they are accurate, relevant and meet the GDC criteria for verifiable CPD. All our CPD is verifiable.

Our Council members represent the DTA at stakeholder meetings, attend the Council meetings twice a year, and have the benefit of a support network of other experienced dental technologists.  working together, the team explores and shares information relating to their field of practice and/or interests for the benefit of you, the DTA membership.

Does this sound like something you would like to become part of? To gain more of an insight into the role played by Council members - and for a chance to meet the DTA team prior to the Council  Elections (May 2023) - observers are welcome to join one of our upcoming meetings via Zoom video conferencing.
