DTA Council members meet with Lord Toby Harris Chair of GDC Council

By DTA | 8th March 2022 | Blog

In his monthly blog post: 'A view from the GDC's Chair: Good discussions and progress on international registration', the GDC's Chair writes about meeting the Oral Health Foundation, Dental Technologists Association, British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy and MDDUS, 'to understand their perspectives on the areas we have in common'. He also welcomes the DHSC's plans to amend the legislation governing routes to registration for dental professionals with qualifications gained outside the UK (in the GDC Chair's blog, link below). The GDC's Council also met to bring together their collective thinking on our next Corporate Strategy, ahead of the public consultation later this year.

Of his meeting with members of DTA Council, the GDC Chair said:

'I'm always mindful that the GDC registers the whole dental team. This month it was good to meet the Dental Technologists Association who are the professional body for many of the 5,341 dental technicians and 391 clinical dental technicians on our registers.'
