In the upcoming month of August, Acas is set to host a series of enlightening webinars aimed at addressing some of the most pressing questions and concerns in the workplace today. The webinars will cover a range of topics, including redundancies, national minimum wage, diversity and discrimination, discipline, grievance, and mental health, providing attendees with the opportunity to gain valuable insights and ask questions to Acas advisers.
Redundancy, Layoffs, and TUPE On the 6th of August, from 2 pm to 2:30 pm , a webinar will delve into the intricacies of redundancy, layoffs, and TUPE, exploring questions such as the fairness of redundancy selection and the implications of pay rises for transferred-in staff after TUPE.
Wages and Living Standards Following that, on the 8th of August, from 10 am to 10:30 am , the focus will shift to wages, specifically the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage. Participants will learn about the timing of wage increases and the legality of deductions for training fees upon leaving a job.
Diversity and Discrimination Mid-month, on the 14th of August, from 2 pm to 2:30 pm , a session will address diversity and discrimination, offering guidance on job role changes impacting disabilities and disciplinary actions related to disabilities.
Disciplinary Procedures On the 20th of August, from 2 pm to 3 pm , Acas will provide a comprehensive look at managing a fair disciplinary procedure, covering everything from informal approaches to conducting investigations and disciplinary hearings.
Grievance Management The 22nd of August, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm , will see a webinar on managing grievances effectively, emphasizing the importance of resolving workplace conflict early to support good working relationships.
Mental Health at Work Finally, on the 29th of August, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm , the series will conclude with a webinar on mental health at work. This session will highlight the significant impact of the workplace on mental health and discuss strategies for addressing it in a positive manner.
