GDC launches MyGDC to modernise registration services

By DTA | 12th March 2026 | News

On 25 March, the GDC is launching MyGDC, a new online portal for dental professionals and those wanting to join the register. MyGDC replaces eGDC and is designed to modernise how dental professionals and applicants interact with the GDC.

What MyGDC means for dental professionals and applicants

Existing dental professionals will now use MyGDC to manage their registration, complete their annual renewal and submit and declare their continuing professional development (CPD) hours.

New applicants will be able to complete their entire registration application online, including a digital identity check and the ability to upload supporting documents rather than send them in by post. Applicants will also be able to track the progress of their application through their account.

Existing dental professionals

Existing users of eGDC will be able to access MyGDC using the email address they used to create their account. They do not need to take any action now.

When logging in to MyGDC for the first time, users will be asked to reset their password and complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) as part of the security process.

New applicants

Applicants who are applying to join the GDC register for the first time, will need to create a MyGDC account as part of their application. They will be guided through creating their login details during the application process.

Applicants with an application in progress

Applicants who started an application in eGDC on or before 24 March 2026 should send the required supporting documentation within three months of the application date. If their application is not completed by this date, they will need to submit a new application through MyGDC.

From 25 March 2026, all new applications to join the register should be submitted through MyGDC.

Service availability

eGDC will be unavailable from 18:00 on 23 March while we migrate our systems to MyGDC, which is expected to launch at 10:00 on 25 March. We will publish confirmed timings and any updates on our website.

Existing eGDC users will receive an email confirming when their account has been migrated to MyGDC, with information on how to access the new service.
