Join the nation's biggest oral health campaign

The UK's largest oral health campaign is set to return this spring, as the Oral Health Foundation prepares to launch a nationwide push encouraging better dental habits and raising awareness of key oral health issues.
Running from 11 May to 11 June 2026, National Smile Month will bring together dental professionals, health organisations, schools and communities in a coordinated effort to improve oral health outcomes across the country. The campaign aims to reach millions with clear, evidence-based guidance on maintaining healthy teeth and gums, an area still marked by significant inequalities in access and education.
This year's campaign carries added significance, marking the 50th anniversary of Smile Month. Organisers say the milestone is an opportunity not only to reflect on decades of progress, but also to renew focus on persistent challenges, including preventable tooth decay and gaps in public awareness around daily oral hygiene.
Supporters are being encouraged to take part by sharing key messages, hosting local activities, and amplifying the campaign through digital and community channels. The Foundation emphasises that widespread participation is critical to turning awareness into lasting behavioural change.
