New application processing fee for those who want to sit the ORE

Anyone who wants to apply to sit the Overseas Registration Examination (ORE) will need to pay an application processing fee from 9 March 2024 . The fee will recover the costs associated with processing of these applications and has been set at £96.

We have also announced transitional arrangements that hold examination fees at the current levels until the end of this year before moving to full cost recovery, to ensure we are being fair to candidates by providing sufficient notice of these fee changes. These fees have not changed for nine years. It may be necessary to revise examination fees again, when new ORE contracts are in place in 2025, to align with the new arrangements
