The Dental Technologists Association Advocates for Dental Technicians
By DTA | 13th May 2025 | News
The Dental Technologists Association (DTA) is once again standing up for Dental Technicians, underscoring the importance of compliance with the MHRA Medical Device Regulations (MDR) for Custom-Made Dental Devices.
UK General Dental Council (GDC) registered Dental Technicians possess the essential right under MDR to sign off on Custom-Made Dental Devices produced by UK Dental Laboratories. The DTA acknowledges and appreciates the high standards of compliance maintained by UK Dental Laboratories, ensuring rigorous standards and thorough knowledge of the manufacturing process and materials used.
Registration with MHRA is crucial to legally authorise the signing off of custom-made dental devices, which are then placed on the market for dental clinicians to fit. The process is always conducted under the quality assurance confirmation of a GDC registered dental technician, ensuring the highest level of professional standards and patient care.
