Independent Peer Reviewers needed

By DTA | 5th May 2021 | Jobs

The Institute is looking for additional independent peer reviewers to assist with reviewing apprenticeship standards, assessment plans and technical qualification materials, they are particularly looking for new reviewers in Healthcare and Science occupations to assist with reviews from August this year through the Autumn.

Specifically, the Institute, in its new role for Higher Technical Qualifications (Levels 4&5), is expecting a large number of qualifications to be submitted for review later this summer including in the Dental, oral health and orthodontic occupations.

Reviewers must not have been (or work closely with anyone who has been) a member of a Trailblazer group or involved in the development of any materials they review to preserve the independence and integrity of the reviews. A reviewer could undertake a review as a specialist, pro bono, or could apply to join the register of reviewers. Reviewers who have a contract with the Institute and undertake a range of reviews within their expertise receive a fee for their work. A review could take between a couple of hours and a day, depending on the scope.

If you are interested in becoming an independent reviewer and have occupational experience who can provide an employer perspective on the quality and content of these qualifications, please contact  IFA.peerreview@education.gov.uk.
