Today is European Dental Technicians Day

Today, 5 June, we join colleagues across Europe in celebrating European Dental Technicians Day and recognising the skill, expertise and dedication of dental technologists.

Every day, dental technologists play a vital role in patient care, combining science, technology and craftsmanship to create the custom-made dental devices that restore smiles, improve function and enhance quality of life. Yet despite their importance, many patients remain unaware of the people behind the crowns, bridges, dentures, orthodontic appliances and implant restorations they rely on.

As part of the DTA's ongoing commitment to promoting dental technology as a profession and raising awareness of the valuable contribution dental technologists make to healthcare, we are pleased to share a collection of new resources created to help shine a spotlight on the profession.

The Changing World of Dental Technology

Listen to DTA Council Member and Lab Manager/Prosthetics Manager at SDC Lab, Jade Ritch, in conversation with the Oral Health Foundation in the podcast "The Changing World of Dental Technology."

In this engaging discussion, Jade explores the evolving role of dental technologists, the growth of digital dentistry, and how innovations such as CAD/CAM technology, digital dentures, 3D printing and artificial intelligence are shaping the future of the profession.

Life as a Dental Technologist

We are also delighted to share a series of short videos featuring Daniel Bant, Digital Laboratory Manager, offering an insight into life as a dental technologist.
